CM Arvind Kejriwal said on Wednesday that his wife Sunita Kejriwal is unlikely to contest elections in future. She has no interest in active politics, even though she came out to the public aggressively after her election campaign. Kejriwal spoke at length on a range of topics, including the humiliation he faced during his stay in jail, the allegations against him, what his family is going through and the India alliance in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal said, ‘Sunita has supported me at every stage of my life. I am lucky to have a partner like him. It is not easy to tolerate a crazy person like me.

He recalled that in 2000 he had taken leave from his job as Income Tax Commissioner to work in the slums of Delhi, and then resigned to devote full time to social work. Kejriwal said, ‘At that time I had no idea whether I would become the Chief Minister or form a party and contest elections. I was just motivated and worked for 10 years. Still he supported me. Imagine what they would have gone through then!’

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that if India Alliance forms the government, he will free the judiciary from pressure. Kejriwal said that with this he will be released from jail on June 5, because all the cases registered against him are false. After being released from Tihar Jail on interim bail, Kejriwal had said in his election rallies that if the India alliance wins, he will be freed on June 4, the day after the Lok Sabha election results are declared.

In an interview to PTI Video, Kejriwal was asked how he could make such a statement which implied that the India alliance would break the court’s hand to free him despite serious corruption charges against him. Kejriwal, in his first interview to a media house after being released on bail, said, ‘The judiciary is under a lot of pressure at this time. Everyone knows how much pressure they are working under now.

When asked whether he meant that a possible future government of the India coalition would also put pressure on the courts to release him. Kejriwal replied, ‘We will not put any pressure, but if the pressure on the judiciary is removed then justice will start being delivered. ‘All the cases against me are fake. There is no exchange of money anywhere. Not even a single penny has been found. If there was corruption then where did the money go?
